When Acai Berry supplement hit the market sometime in the early 90s, the public thought that it was just another fancy health supplement.  But when Acai was featured on reputable TV shows, the demand for the supplement went up astronomically.  The instant celebrity status of Acai supplement led many dubious businesses to launch their Acai scams operation.  There are many ways how Acai scammers will entice you into their traps.  One of the most common scams out there is a promotional deal called Free Trial bottle.

Offering a free trial bottle of Acai Berry supplement is not illegal.  In fact, this is a good promotion because many people love to get freebies from the Internet.  It would be similar to free bonuses that are very popular in the world of e-commerce.  Operators of Acai scams know about the inherent weaknesses of people for free offers.  So they take advantage of this knowledge and will offer you the so-called free trial bottle.  All you have to do is to pay for shipping which costs a few bucks only.  At first glance, the operation is perfectly legit and harmless.  That is why lots of people are attracted to the free trial bottle and start ordering from the scammer site.

The trouble starts when you provide your credit card number.  You have to give your credit card number because you will be billed for the shipping of the free trial bottle of Acai Berry.  The problem is that most people do not read the fine print of the terms and conditions of the free trial offer.  Acai scams operators know this fact so they will really make the terms and conditions too convoluted to ensure that most people will not bother to read them.  Basically, the free trial offer comes with time limitation.  So if you take the free bottle, it is only free for a minimum of 14 days.  According to the terms of this type of bonus, you will be billed for the full amount of the bottle after 15 days of your order.  If you fail to cancel your order, you will be re-billed regularly each month for the full price of the Acai supplement.

There are not many ways to cancel your order.  First, the Acai scams operators will tell you to contact their customer service.  However, if you will navigate through their sites, you will not find any contact number that will connect you to the customer service department.  So you will be forced to send an email to cancel your order.  This is your second option.  The trouble is that correspondences with these Acai scams operators are so slow.  Before you get any meaningful reply, your credit card has already been billed for the trial bottle and for the next purchase.  This could amount to hundreds of dollars.

So what is left for you?  For one thing, you will have a so-called free Acai Berry bottle that is not free at all.  Second, you will be charged for a purchase that you do not want.  And lastly, you will have a big headache because you will be forced to cancel your credit card and get a new one just to avoid recurring charges.
